As the sun begins to set, casting long shadows across the dusty western town, a mysterious figure emerges from the saloon. Her stride is confident, her hips swaying beneath a form-fitting black leather dress that clings to every curve. The crowd parts before her, whispers trailing in her wake. She moves with an unmistakable air of power and allure, her gaze fixed on the small adobe house at the end of the street. The house seems to tremble under her intense scrutiny. Her lips curve into a predatory smile as she steps closer, revealing a tattoo of a serpent coiled around her left wrist. The serpent's head rests against the soft flesh of her palm, its eyes glowing red with malevolent intent. The townspeople watch on, unsure of what to make of this enigmatic woman who has suddenly appeared among them. They can feel the weight of her presence, the thrumming energy that vibrates through the air. Who is she? What does she want? These questions hang heavy in the stillness that surrounds her. As she reaches the small adobe house, she pauses, her eyes locked on the front door. Suddenly, it bursts open, revealing a man who looks to be in his late twenties, dressed in nothing but a pair of worn trousers. His eyes widen as he takes in the imposing figure before him. He tries to speak, but no words come out. She steps forward, her heels clicking on the hard-packed dirt. "I am here for your comic," she says, her voice like velvet wrapped around steel. The man swallows hard, nodding slowly. He steps aside, allowing her to enter his home. As she moves through the small, cluttered room, she takes in every detail - the stacks of papers scattered across the table, the pencil marks and ink stains that cover the walls. This is his sanctuary, his world. And she intends to partake in it, if only for a little while. Reaching out, she runs her fingers along the spine of a worn leather-bound book, tracing the titles with a mix of anticipation and curiosity. Then, without another word, she sinks into a chair, pulling the comic closer. As she begins to read, the man watches her, his heart pounding in his chest. He can feel the weight of her gaze, the intensity of her focus. It's both thrilling and terrifying, this feeling of being so completely seen and understood. For in this moment, he knows that she is not just reading his work, but experiencing it on a level that he could never have imagined. The Illusion of Size is more than just a title to her - it's a promise, a threat, a secret shared between them. And as she loses herself in the pages of his creation, he wonders if he will ever be able to emerge from her shadow, or if he even wants to.
